Our Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

On Wednesday we had an awful day! School has sucked up all my time recently, including time with Jordan, which has been very depressing for me, and hard for Michael. Not only does he go to work but when he comes home he babysits so I can do homework. Jordan cried pretty much the entire time Michael had to watch him. This particular Wednesday I had to write a paper due that next day. I was lucky in that while Michael was gone Jordan slept the majority of the time, and I was able to make a lot progress on my paper. However, when Michael came home for the evening Jordan was awake and angry, and I still had half my paper to write. It was awful, and tensions were very high. Also, Wednesday was Michael's birthday. Somehow my paper got done, and Jordan went to bed as usual, but he did wake up more than usual during the night. The next day we took Jordan to the doctor. He is usually a pretty happy kid, and easily soothed, but not that last couple of days. Plus he hasn't been sleeping nearly as well. Well the doctor told us that Jordan has a virus which was causing a sore throat. However, Jordan has shot up to the 73-75% in weight and height. He weighs 14 lbs. 14 ounces and is 25 inches long. He was in about the 20% when he born, so he has grown a ton, very fast! The doctor told us we could give him Tylenol, which has worked wonders. Today went much better. I was able to stay home all day and just be with Jordan. He was so cute, and even laughed for the first time! He took a 2 1/2 hour nap, and I got a lot of housework done. Plus I made a great dinner of chicken parmesan and a birthday cake.

Here is today :) He's smiles are quite hard to catch on camera, here's the best one we've caught, even though it's overexposed.

Here was the other day.

  1. Don't you love the power of medicine. Sorry about the bad day, I'm glad he is normally happy and smiley!
